Ivan was born in Bogotá Colombia, He lived there until the age of 17. After accomplishing his technical studies in graphic arts, he moved to the United States to pursue a career as a graphic designer.  

In the United States he discovered his true vocation as a multidisciplinary artist. Following his studies in painting and photography at McHenry County College, He earned an associates degree in fine arts. In 2012 he follow his career with a bachelors degree in studio art from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago.  

Ospina’s work deals with politics and the understanding of individuals in social systems through the analysis of art objects.  

He is currently living and working between the city of Chicago and the suburbs around Woodstock, IL.
